Cherating, Pahang

Christmas 2006

Cherating Beach has wide soft sandy beaches, lined with casuarinas trees, is pretty and serene. The ocean and sea breeze is inviting for a swim under the sun and clear, blue skies..

The lovely, rustic and traditional village atmosphere is the charm and attraction of Cherating.

The stretch of road, runs parallel to the beach is lined with comfortable chalets, many of which face the beach front.

Club Med in Malaysia is situated here on a private beach.

Just a drive away is the town of Kemaman, in the state of Trengganu, best for drive along the coast, enjoying the countryside.

Keropok lekor, a popular snack here, is fried fish paste, comes in two types, thick and chewy or thin and crispy. It is best eaten hot with its special chili dip.

There is also a famous kopitiam here, old-fashioned coffee place, best for a cup of local brewed coffee.
