Mexico City and then heading south. Guatamala, Belize, Honduras, El Salvador, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and beyond. We´ll see where we get to when we get there.

Ruins of Tikal

Okay, now we are totally ruined out for a while! But we are glad we saved the best til last...well, until we see the next set of ruins...they are bloody everywhere over here!! Tikal was by far the most amazing. We thought Palenque was like a lost city...this still is a lost city! Only 20% has been excavated...and building structures were literally still under mountains of dirt with tree roots wrapped around them. We had heard that someone got lost a couple of years ago and was found 5 days later and 80km away. So we decided that getting a guide for Tikal might be a wise move.  We were really grateful that we did so because haveing local knowledge and stories really helped to increase our appreciation of ruins.
We also hung out with a English couple and it was quite refreshing to hear phrases like "it was pants",  "Wicked!" and "that's mental".
