Palenque

We went out to the Mayan ruins of Palenque (that´s our second set of ruins in a week!!). They were amazing despite the ridiculous heat...the ruins were like a lost city set amongst gorgeous jungle...apparently they were abandoned in 900AD and then were completely covered by the jungle for hundreds of years! Cool huh! After this overkill in ruins, we made our way through a secret path in the jungle, tipped off by our landlady.  Just when we were sure that we had come the wrong way and were about to be robbed by the landlady's henchmen we stumbled upon a gorgeous set of waterfalls which Tris insisted on climbing...check the photo ;-)
