Where's the &$%# pusat bandar?

I've to break free from the USA and prove this IS a Global Project... But where to? I’ve been haunted all my life by the relationship my nation and my family have had with a country on the other side of the globe: Vietnam. Now that I feel I’ve got something to give to the world, it seems only logical that that is where I should go next. So for the second chapter of my global journey, I drop everything and head out on a 14,000 mile Pilgrimage to Vietnam…

Where's the &$%# pusat bandar?

No, that's NOT the real "city center"!

I'd figured out how to read "city center" in Malay, but still not having much luck FINDING it!  But then again, it's more fun wandering around LOOKING for something than just wandering around...

I saw a cluster of skyscrapers off in the distance and figured that must be the city center... After about two hours of wandering through zigzag residential streets and fields--I found out that, nope, this wasn't the real city center.  And it started raining... But I didn't give up.  Down through a construction zone, weaving through a massive decrepit apartment complex, across two freeways... down a muddy path... along some railroad tracks and FINALLY I found the city center of Johor Bahru with a massive shopping mall, a palace on a hillside, a quait historic street and a bright and loud Indiatown...

Overall, a great experience... frustrating... but a great experience...

Thanks for the correction...

Yeah, Malaysia, unlike other Asian countries seems to have embraced the American "city sprawl" concept...
