Kyoto, Nara and Inari

We started our day nice and early and headed off to Nara. Our main reason for going was Nara Park (a.k.a. Deer Park); it did not disappoint! We bought some crackers for the deer and as soon as we entered the park, they came for us. They were beautiful and kept on nudging/headbutting us for more; one cheeky devil actually nipped Steph's leg while another fawn jumped up on her. Priceless photos. A side from the deer, the park itself was lovely and the temples and pagodas were beautiful.
We wanted to stop at Inari on the way back to Kyoto from Nara, however, the local train would have been so slow that we found it quicker to take the express all the way back to Kyoto and then jump back on the local two stops to Inari. Inari was amazing. They have a 4km walkway of shrine gates in red and black, which we walked through for quite some time (not the whole 4km though). We got some more superb photos and had an excellent time. The whole town is like a shrine in itslef, with tombs and monuments everywhere. It was one of our favourite experiences so far!
Back to Kyoto we headed to Bic Camera for another sneaky massage and had a full 15mins in the chairs! Awesome. We then went to the Atom (a.k.a Astro) Boy exhibit at Kyoto station which took Steph back to the past.
From there, we jumped on a bus (206 from the station) to Cafe Peace, a vegan restaurant. It was so great to have a full menu choice of food (see review)!
All in all, another winner of a day.
