MAJESTIC MAY 1

PAHIYAS FESTIVAL  (May 2008)

Philippine flowers generraly bloom in May and the province of Quezon has a distinct way of celebrating this season. The town of Lucban decorate their houses with kiping- a colorful, transparent rice tortilla that serves as edible ornaments. Kipings are everywhere at the Pahiyas, an festival done as appreciation to the Gods after a bountiful harvest and smashing good times.

Food lovers will surely enjoy here. With the free-for-all, eat-all-you can rule, everyone can enjoy some native delicacies such as suman, or native rice cakes.

Other neighboring towns also celebrate this season by showcasing their peoples creativity and uniqueness by displaying their crafts and culinary tradition before a huge audience.
