Some of the views from the train to Vienna

Today was an early start.  Had to catch the 08.30 train which would get me to Vienna around 14.30.  As I had to repack all of my bags it was all a bit of a rush.

The train was pleasent enough and I spent most of the time reading.  The only time I got distracted was to look at some of the views we sped past which were truly stunning.  We flew past snow capped mountains, flowing rivers, forests plus much more.  Not sure why but it is what I imagined Alaska to look like.  Tried to get some pictures but the train was too fast.  The best one's can be seen here.  It got me thinking that I really need to see more places.  I have got a trip around the west coast of America planned for next year.

After this trip I know I can do it alone of I need to.  I am meant to be going with 3 other guys which means 3x as much fun so I just hope they sort themselves out...

Arrived in Vienna and straight to the hostel.  Staying in quite a dodgy looking area but so far so good.   I am quite near to the train station and back in London, all areas near to mainline stations seem to be quite dodgy.  So far so good though.

The hostel is ok - Basic and cold.  It also stinks of tobacco.  Actually, everything here smells of tobacco.  Not that nice.

Took a walk into town this evening and just wandered whilst stopping off at a few bars along the way.  Being a Monday night nothing much was happening so I was in bed just after midnight ready for a day of sightseeing tomorrow.
