A worthy daytrip!

Just a short train ride away from Lisbon lies a national treasure called Sintra... Here you can take in the beautiful and quaint town and also get wisked up the steep hills to Pena Palace, the former home of kings and queens of Portugal...

A worthy daytrip!

Sintra is a beautiful place and is worth a visit when in Portugal...

It is located about 3 hrs away by train from Lisbon.  After the train trip, you take a bus that takes to express through the old streets of Sintra, up the hill to Pena Palace, where many kings and queens have resided over the centuries... Technically it only takes you to the gates, from there you have to take a series of trams that go up the steep mountain to the castle.

Pena Palace is spectacular, with virtually everything in this place having been preserved from back when royalty lived here...  Check out the Royal chambers, the Royal dinning hall, and more... After a long day, have lunch at the cafe overlooking the city of Sintra :)
