i was supposed to go to liège, belgium today, the hometown of my favorite tennis player and see her new tennis club in limelette, but when i checked my bank account yesterday, it said: "ok, you can go to belgium, but you can't eat for the rest of the month" hahahahaha well, i'd rather eat. so today, even if it's only 3 degrees, the sun was shining and the sky was blue, i went to one of the castles in düsseldorf called schloß eller, its not as grand as the rococco benrath castle with manicured gardens and an orangerie located also in düsseldorf, but schloß eller is much more charming, haunting, quaint and picturesque and i love the moat that encircles the castle and the water festung (fortress). it housed the former fashion academy in düsseldorf, but due to increasing number of students it had to be moved. i mostly walked around the castle grounds, followed tv crews (hahaha) and i looked for newts hidden in the leaves but unfortunately i couldnt find some, only mole hills and ducks.
so i took pictures of the small castle, the nature around it, the moat and the river düssel (düsseldorf was named after the small brook named düssel, dorf - town in german - thus düsseldorf - town in the düssel)
