On 11th September, I started the camping tour through Namibia to Zambia to the Vic Falls. The first day was just driving through South Africa and over the border to Namibia. Our first camping site was just next to the Orange River. It was a really nice site and even had a hot shower. That was a good start! We are 8 people in our groupe and one tour guide of course. There are two Swiss (from the french part, but they fortunatly speak german), two Australian, two English and one American. They are all really nice and funny.

The second day we drove to Fish River Canyon which is the second biggest canyon of the world. It was really impressive although the sunset wasn't that special as clouds has hidden the sun a bit.

We also went walking in the canyon for about 2 hours and we saw a really special lizzard! Those of you who know me quite well, know how excited I was!!! It was a blue lizzard! Wow!!!

On the next day, we had to drive a really long distance! It was also getting hotter and hotter as we drove towards the desert! About 15 minutes before we got to the campsite our van had a flat tire. So we all had to get out of the van and the men had to change the tire. Well, you could really see that our guide was used to this!! In about 10 to 15 minutes the new tire was on and we could get to our campsite where we staid for the next two nights. In the afternoon, we went walking into the Sesriem Canyon. That was quite good as well but nothing compared to the Fish River Canyon.

The next day, we had to wake up at 5 o'clock as we were going to see the sunrise over the dunes! After about 45 minutes drive, we arrived at Dune 45 were we walked up the Dune. You cannot imagine how hard it was to walk up this Dune!! But finally, even I arrived at the top on time to the the sunrise. It is impossible to describe how beautiful that was so just look at the pictures which I hopefully can put on today or tomorrow. After the breakfast infornt of the Dune, we made our way to the Sossusvlai and Deathvlai. Really amazing places as well, as you can see at the photos. The afternoon, we could do whatever we liked, so we all chilled and slept as it was a really hard walk and a long day.

Today, we drove from Sesriem to Swakopmund. Again we had to change another flat tire.....but finally we arrived here and took over our dorm room for the next two nights.

Swakopmund seems to be a really nice town. I walked to the beach (I was the only person on the beach) and suddenly, I saw a seal. I was not sure if it was alive so I went closer and made a noise. It looked at me and made its way to the ocean. But obviously the water was too cold so it came back again and layed on the beach...that was really really cute!!

So that's it for now. The next oppertunity to write a journal will be after I've seen all the wildlife and the Vic Falls!

Ok, just added the photos. They are smaller than normal as it takes much less time this way to upload them and they are a bit dark. As I thought they were to bright, as I took them, I changed the settings on my camera. Fortunatly, It is all digital and I can brightem them up on the computer at home....
