Trip up to Silver Star
We both woke up really early today, it seems that jet lag is taking hold now which is really weird. David and Virginia took us on a driving tour of Vernon so we could get to see a bit of the local scenery. We went up to a new development overlooking Okanagen Lake which has some spectacular views. From there we went up to the local ski resort Silver Star where the views were even more impressive. The drive up was beautiful but as we climbed the in car temperature reading was dropping steadily and at the top it was minus 2, not good for those of us in summer clothing!! We were so cold we forgot to take any pictures. You'll have to either take our word on how beautiful the views are or go there yourself. We ate lunch at a bar called Long John's, having the biggest plate of Nacho's I've ever done battle with. We took a slightly different route back to town and went past some amazing properties.
We had planned to visit a couple of wineries but as we were running late we ended up going home and uploading these latest entries onto Travbuddy. Keeping you guys informed cost us a drink!!!
We had a family BBQ in the evening and had a great time with Virginia, David and two of his kids, Kindie and Avi. Hopefully we'll get to the wineries tomorrow.
