My New Years in Prague.
January 4, 2008
My flat mates and I went over to our friends flat. We played some card games for a bit and then we made our way to Old Town Square, which is where we were separated. It was okay though. Some drama broke out on the bridge. Some of our friends were arguing over something stupid and it was even more annoying to me because they were both drunk. I tried really hard not to pay attention, because I was standing in the middle of a bridge in Prague on New Years Eve!!! Never in a million years did I think this would happen. If you were standing on Charles Bridge and looking at Old Town Square, I was on the bridge to the right. The entire thing was lined with people. We were above some boats that were cruising the Vlatva. One was filled with Canadians and they were having a blast... chanting things about Canada and how it rocks, naturally. I yelled Happy New Year to them a few times. It was fun. It seems to me that that was a great idea, to rent out a boat on the Vlatva River! The fireworks were amazing! They surrounded me from all angles and they lasted for ages! It was unreal. One scary thing is that there were a bunch of non-professional people setting off fireworks as well. Some were getting close to my group as well as others. At one point I thought my friend Becky was blown up by one. It blew up on the ground right in front of her as we were crossing the street. It was out of control.
Happy 2008!
