spending the night in the hammock meant i got little sleep: i went to bed late, courtesy of the fiasco last night, and i woke up with the sun (and chickens that invaded the nearby lawn). after a light breakfast, i officially moved into the hostel. they made me pay for both of the nights i reserved in advance, which was pretty strange, but on the other hand they forgot to charge me for the night i had jsut spent there. fine by me.
i found a bus into tibau do sul to find the medical post. the doctor there gave me some drug i never heard of in a GIGANTIC shot, and i spent the afternoon catching up on sleep in one of the hospital beds. afterwards, i went back to the hostel and chilled in the pool for a bit. despite the doctors advice to stay away from greasy food, one of the chilean girls at the hostel, who also happened to be a chef in the real world, was cooking up pizzas. good lord. i had something like 8 slices. really really really good pizza. i went to sleep early and feeling much better than i had the night before, having now spent a full day at pipa having not seen a single beach.
