My Birthday at a Winery!

Cheers! It's my Birthday. I've decided that I would like to do some wine tasting and pick some apples so I can make an apple pie. Sounds like something fun that the kids can enjoy too. The whole family packs into the Trail Blazer and off we go on another adventure. The Peaks of Otter Winery is a great place! You step into the theme of Johnny Appleseed from the moment you drive onto the property. With "johnny's house" by the apple orchard, a big statue of Johnny, and other quaint buildings on the property, I had a great time exploring with my 4 year-old neice and 2 year-old nephew. The store has barrels of apples you can choose from or you can grab a bag and go pick your own off the trees in the orchard. We decided to pick our own. Landen kept picking the apples off the ground and putting them in the bag, but my sister would take them out when he wasn't looking.
After filling a few bags up with apples, we made the trek back to the store to weigh them and browse around the store. My sister and I headed straight over to the wine tasting. Peaks of Otter make some beautiful fruit wines. I ended up buying a bottle of pineapple-apple wine, and a peach-apple wine. The blackberry cobbler wine was quite tasty too, but I can't bring all that home with me. I wish I could!
The day passed by quickly and on our way back home we stopped to have my birthday dinner at the Outback steakhouse so I didn't have to cook my own birthday meal. I was thankful for that.
