Paris, Je t'aime

Paris, the city that needs no introduction. Who doesn't know the Eifeltower, the Arc de Triomph, Montmartre and Qaurtier Latin? Paris… What can I say that has not already been said by thousands? The answer to that question I do not know. All I know is one thing; when I'm in Paris, it feels like being home.

I absolutely love Paris. Its smell on a Sunday morning, its cramped terraces with the tiny tables and wobbly chairs, its taxi drivers who throw lavish gestures at you with their right hand while keeping the left hand on the horn. Paris, I love your architecture, wide, tree bordered boulevards and narrow back passages with scooters flying through. I love your history, the present and no doubt, your future.

Paris has my rhythm.

Our harts beat with the same pulse and with the regularity of the underground, 'Le Metro'. In the morning, standing at a bar counter, having a croissant, some coffee and a smoke, just to get us going. Then, to pass time, a few hours of work or sightseeing if you're a tourist. The hours are spent only to fill up time before you can go and have an extensive lunch. Warm, homely meals are served and accompanied by a glass of wine or two, or three. Paris is all about passion and taste. That goes for the fashion as well as the food, and for the people I might add. Sure, some old fashioned waiters may talk in sentences shorter than a recalcitrant three-year-old but for me that adds to the city's charm.

Les Halles, Les Abatoires, La Fayette. La Defense, Bois de Boulogne et la Banlieue. J'aime tout! In this blog, I will post my pictures of Paris from the past, the present and in the future.
