My husband and I were flying to New York City from Texas one day, because we plan to meet some old friends from the uni. While I already took 2 days of vacation to meet my friends, there are still 2 days on the weekend which are free to use. So we arranged our flight to fly from NYC to Buffalo. Because everything was made last minute and we only have one day in town, we decided to stay nearby the airport so we can fly back to NYC early in the morning the next day without rushing.

So we arrived in Buffalo at 11am and after check in, we straight away taking taxi to the Niagara State Park. The taxi trip took 30 minutes and cost about 70USD.

Then we got ourselves ticket to maid of the mist. This is the name of the boat which going down to the river, close to the fall. The ticket cost 13.50USD and this includes visit to the observation tower. There is an option to buy one day pass (33USD), which allow you to go to boat trip (maid of the mist), cave of the winds, Niagara adventure theater, observation tower (the sky rise allowing us to see 360 degree panoramic Niagara, taking nice pictures and observing through a binocular which cost 25cents), discovery center, Niagara scenic trolley (going around on a tram) and aquarium of Niagara. But we were not really interested to see the rest, so we just bought the maid of the mist trip.

The ticket booth had a longggggg line. However it only took us 5minutes before we stood up at the front and got our ticket.

Entering the gate, we went straight away to top floor of the observing tower and after taking 1000 pictures (i'm only joking!) we took the lift to the base of the tower where the boat will depart from. We got a plastic rain coat prior to boarding to the boat and then the trip started from the fall on the US side (horse shoe fall), where the mist from the strong water fall enough to make us wet without the coat. Plus my husband determined to baptize my camera by taking pictures while we were at the bottom of the fall. Then it continues to the bigger fall which separating US from Canada. On the Canadian side, there were this building which used to be for the turbin generating power for electricity. Now, it's no longer used but stands beautifully with all of the arcs and cave.

Coming back from the boat, we exit into parks around the river and we also went to the side of the fall through several steps then visiting the shops (souvenir is only for tourist, but we are tourist!). Then we had dinner in hard rock cafe which located across the street from the gate of the park before we went back to the hotel. However, on the way to the hotel we passed through a huge casino. So we made a 10 minutes stop to look around before we went back. We arrived in the hotel by 9pm and spent the nite doing nothing....before we took 6am flight to NYC. The reason why we took this 6am was the ticket gave us cheapest option...hehehehe.

Enjoy the pictures!
