Wet, wet, wet!

After a long overnight bus and boat journey from Bangkok, via Surat Thani, we finally arrived at Spa Samui around midday. The weather wasn't great, but it looked like it could be clearing. How wrong we were! For the next four days it absolutely chucking it down. Fortunately we were preoccupied with our detox program, which started at 7 am on the second day of our stay.

The program consited of 5 detox drinks a day, 6 herbal cleansing tablets 5 times a day and of course.....two coffee colonics a day. Lovely! Oh, and not forgetting to mention - no food for 7 days! By day four, we were pretty bored as there wasn't much to do as it was raining so much. We couldn't sunbathe or sit down for a nice meal. Well, we did get some broth (with absolutely no bits in it). Fortunately the sun came out on our fifth day of fasting so we could go for walks along the beach, go over to Chaweng Beach for a bit of shopping and go for a little island tour.

The day after our last fasting day we finally sat down for our first meal, both 5 kilos lighter. We ate continuously throughout the day and finished off with a massive seafood platter at a plush hotel on Chaweng Beach. Not quite how we were supposed to break the fast, but hey, we'd been thinking about food for 7 days...

We checked out the following day and were picked up and taken to Big Buddha Beach for our ferry over to Koh Tao.

Hi you two. What was the Detox like then? It sounds hurrendous! How did you feel at the end (apart from hungry)??!! It's not even like you could afford to lose 5kg you mad people!! The bungalows and pool looked nice though. Anyway, what are you up to now? Looking forward to reading the next instalment!

We are moving into our new house in less than 2 weeks. Hurrah!! Trouble is I will need a good carpenter to come and build some cupboards!!
Lots of love
