We arrived in Sydney around midday, crossing the Sydney Harbour Bridge and glad to have completed the final leg of our Greyhound bus journey. We checked in to Maze backpackers, which is pretty centrally located, and spent the afternoon exploring Chinatown.
The following day we had a walk around central Sydney and took in the views of the Opera House and Sydney Harbour Bridge. The weather was unfortunataly not great, so the pictures are a bit grey. In the evening we had dinner in Darling Harbour, which used to be pretty grim, but is now a popular restaurant and bar area.
On the third day we took a train up to the Blue Mountains, about two hours from Sydney.
On day four we took the ferry over to Manly Beach where we enjoyed a dip in the sea and watching the surfers catching some waves. We did the walk from Coogee to Bondi Beach the following day, taking in the dramatic coastline. On our last day we had a picnic in the Botanical Gardens, with the stunning backdrop of both the Opera House and the Harbour Bridge. We also went to the IMAX Cinema in Darling Harbour and saw Beowulf in 3D.
On the Sunday we got up early and went to the airport for our flight to New Zealand.
