After the spa, the dive course and the full moon party we really needed a holiday, so we thought why not head down to Ao Nang, to hang out with some Swedish and German tourists? Well we did after a lovely 3.5hr trip on a very old, not air, but fanconditioned, bus filled to 140% capacity. After we had been told we would arrive at 1.30pm we arrived in a timely fashion just before 4pm. In time for a dip in the sea and a drink on the beach.
We met a couple of Aussie guys and Welsh girls on the bus, who we hung out with in the two first evenings for a few drinks and all you can eat dinner. During the days we spent most of our time sunbathing, playing beach ball and having massages and manicures. There are literally hundreds of massage places here. Everywhere you go you hear 'you won massah?'
We also went kayaking along the coastline to Railay, with some beautiful scenery, amazing stalagtites/stalagmites and a secluded beach on the way.
On the last day, we needed some time out of the sun so decided to do a Thai cooking course. We were a group with five other people including a couple on their honeymoon. Mrs Ya was quite a character. You needed 7 'glops' of this and 'bang bang the ingredients'. We learnt how to cook around ten dishes and the sat down for a lovely meal. We were all very full after.
