Christchurch and Akaroa

We arrived mid-afternoon and collected our new home for the next four weeks. What a relief not to have to pack and unpack every other day! We set up camp for the night just outside the city and cooked our first meal for a while.
In the morning we went in to town for a look around and to buy a SIM card for our mobile.
We set off for the Banks Penninsula and Akaroa mid-morning, taking the scenic route and arriving just in time to prepare lunch with views over the harbour. We then had a look around the village, before heading back inland for the night. We got as far as Rakaia.
