Waiting around in Nha Trang
Today was sort of a lazy day as we had to wait all day to get on the bus to our next city in Vietnam which is Hoi An. The busses are only overnight and so we had a second day in Nha trang. Nha trang is basically a beach town so there is a beach and not much more to do. We woke up pretty late, around 9:30am and packed up our things. We checked out of our hotel but left our bags with them. Then we got some breakfast, I had a french-inspired Vietnamese sandwhich, on a baguette with soft cheese, strange meat, cucumber, and tomatoe.
There was one site we went to see. A temple with a big seated Bhuda on top. We walked to it and took some pictures. On the way we stopped to have lunch at an outside restaurant where Steve had the one dish they served, rice with some meat.
We went back to the hotel we were at to take a rest on their rooftop terrace. It was nice and breezy up there and so we rested awhile because there was nothing much to do. After that we went down and walked to a place to use the internet. While there, Steve started to not feel too well. He felt nausceous so he went back to the hotel to rest in the lobby. I finished up on the computer and found him seated in the lobby. He sat there for awhile and used the bathroom, but still felt a bit ill.
After awhile of resting, we walked over to the nearby beach. The beach was very scenic and many Vietnamese people and tourists were enjoying the beach.
I sat on the cement near the sand and Steve went into the water and swam around for a bit. Then we both sat outside awhile and eventually walked around to look for a place to eat dinner. We had dinner by going down the street and eating various foods from food stands. First I had a fruit shake at one stand, then the next stand had these pancake things with squid and bean sprouts, then the last place I had sticky rice in a sweet sauce. Since Steve wasnt feeling well he had noodle soup for dinner, and I got another sandwhich from a foodstand.
Then we went back to the hotel where the bus would pick us up to take us to Hoi An. We waited awhile and then the bus came and we were off on an overnight ride there. The bus was ok, I took some dramamine and fell asleep and Steve slept right away as well.
