Island Boat Trip

We arrived in Nha Trang today by bus from Ho Chi Minh city around 7am. We first went to look for a hotel to stay at. We looked at a couple and picked one that cost $7 for the night, fan. I took a shower and Steve saw a sign that advertised for a boat tour leaving today at 8:30am. I wanted to have more time to recooperate from the long boat ride, but after I showered I felt better so agreed to go on the all day boat tour. We signed up for the tour, and then went to find some breakfast. We ate a place aroud the corner and each got a bowl of beef noodle soup for around 60 cents each.
A bus picked us up from the hotel at 8:30am to leave for the boat trip.
At the first island we had about an hour to snorkel next to the island. They gave us these terribly cheap snorkels that didn't really work very well. We jumped off the boat and did some snorkeling which was fun but difficult because our snorkel equipment was not good.
We got to another section of the water where all the other identical boats were as well. They started layin g out all the food on the table in the middle. We didn't each get our own dish, instead they layed out many different dishes in the middle and everyone would just reach in and grab what they want. Steve was very concerned that it wouldn't be enough food and he thought he would have to race to eat enough. But actually it was more than enough food for everyone, and of course steve was the last one to keep eating the leftovers after everyone else was done.
After lunch we were entertained by the TM brothers boy band. TM brothers was the name of the tourist agency that organized the boat tour. They were talking about a performance by their boy band but we thought they were kidding. No, in fact they had a little band made up of the tour guides and it was highly amusing. They were really great actually and sang lots of american and vietnamese songs. They also made people get up and dance on the table, but steve and i just watched :)
After lunch it was time for "happy hour" with a floating bar. One of the tour guides/boy band members got in th e water in a large tube with a bucket of free red wine and pineapples.
Next we were off to another island. This time the boat docked on the island and we all got off to enjoy the beach for an hour. We swam in the clear water some . When we got back on the boat, there was a fruit bounty waiting for us. It was delicious, they had pineapple, watermelon, rambutan, dragon fruit, and a couple other unidentifiable fruits. Then the boat left for another island that had a small aquarium on it. The aquarium seemed like it would be prety lame so we decided to skip on that and just waited outside for 30 minutes.
We went back to our hotel to take showers. Then went out confirm our bus for Hoi an the next day, and then got some dinner. We walked around looking for a good place to eat, we finally picked a restaurant advertising Vietnamese seafood. I ordered shrimp with noodle and vegetables and steve ordered spicy frog. We also got a coconut milkshake and banana milkshake. actually the food turned out to be pretty yucky, even the milkshakes were not good. Steve decided it was the worst restaurant we've eaten at in all of Asia. We were dissapointed with the bad taste of the food, since usually ev erything we've eaten has been quite delicious. Oh well, on the way home I picked up 2 creme puffs for only 12 cents each and was happy! but steve didn't want any creme puff. Then we went home and were pretty exhausted so went to sleep right away.
