Tips from an American in Paris
When visiting Paris, indulging in les macarons is a must, and Ladurée is the Louis Vuitton of macarons. A full menu is offered and there is usually a line out the door for Sunday brunch, but for me, it is the place for macarons and coffee. They offer full size macarons, or, for those (like me) who cannot choose just one flavor, you can order an assortment of 6 small macarons. All of the flavors are great, but my favorite is the caramel sale. They also offer beautifully wrapped boxes filled with the selection of your choice (8 for 9 euros) which make a nice gift. The decor is exquisite and elegant and the presentation is perfect down to the last detail - they even have special covers for the handle of your coffee/tea pot so you don't burn your fingertips. A very Parisian experience!
