After sad farewells in Canada (thanks for having us everyone!) we flew to New York for the weekend and the start of our road trip. Greeting us along with the bright lights was also New York Hostel...more akin to a squat than hotel, but it did the job. NYC was awesome, everything i expected & we got to see Chicago and did all the usual tourist stuff. Liberty,Empire State etc. Wicked cafe opposite grand central for breakfast,  niiiiice. then a lot of guinness in langans sunday night....not so nice the following day, but thanks for the pints on you Noel! Much appreciated.

Monday morning we set off for Philadelphia. Didn't really know what to expect but it's a cool place. Trendy little side streets with nice little cafe's, and of course  Independence Park. Got to see where it all began in the States, and the Liberty bell. The bus tour was well worth it, and yes we ran up the 'Rocky' steps of the Philadelphia Museum of Art. Sorry folks but it had to be done!

Today we arrived in Baltimore...we knew even less about it and with only one night i don't think we'll see too much. Did the Aquarium today which was great for me. They've even got a Cowfish there just like mine!!! After being shouted at by a drug crazed mentalist from her car in broad daylight...we're declining to explore the city after dark by foot. I think we're staying in the 'wrong' part of town. One of the maids wearing a tag on her ankle , along with the coffee machine in the toilet just helped confirm my suspicions...oh well. Next stop Washington DC. Write you soon y'all!!!

Sounds like a lot of the same places we want to go to.... Baltimore... it's really hard to know if you are in the wrong part of town... you take a motel that sounds good then find out the other rooms are rented by the hour.... Such a great start! Stay safe. Take care and Happy Travels! Sylvia
