It's nice to be back in Chiang Mai. Although it's raining quit hard now. We book a hotel for a change, because my husband still has some trouble sleeping of the sunburn we caught in Soppong. He has blisters on his shoulders and the cold compresses don't seem to work. So, we need a sleeping place with a fine bed, airco and a swimming pool. We found one booked it and then we also booked a flight for tommorow back to Bangkok. We bought two tickets at the desk of 1,2,GO for 1750 baht each, that is cheap, the night train to Chiang Mai cost more. After that were taking a cab to the hotel. The first thing we do when we got at the hotel, was taking a dive into the swimming pool. I toke a run straight out of it, because it was so cold, but my husband seems to enjoy the coldness on his arms and legs.
After a nice shower and putting on some dry clothes, we went back in to town. The weather is cleared up and doesn't look like it had being raining before. We missed Starbucks the last couple of days. So the first thing to do, is drinking a nice frappuccino there. Then we just walked a bit in the centre of Chiang Mai and bought some small souvenirs. The night market was again nice to see. A street that is empty in the daytime, comes to live at night. Stalls are built up, and 80% of the vendours, selling the same things. We found out how it worked with the light they use in there stalls. They need electricity and they have to pay for it aswell. The electricity meters are hanging on a tree or pole and that is where they plug in. Some poles have over 50 meters. What a culture differents. If they do that in the Netherlands like that, you will recieve a big fine for it.
After a nice meal, we went back to the hotel. Tommorow we leaving for Bangkok and than further to Ayutthaya by bus. It will be another long travelling day. The weather forcast isn't that good for tommorow. The news talks about flooding streets in Bangkok. just wait and see what happens.
