Okay, our last full day in Hong Kong. We made plans to meet Sylvia, a friend of a friend.  She had moved there in February to teach English. She came to our hotel and picked us up. She had a plan to take us around Hong Kong - she was our personal tour guide!
First guide we had the whole trip.  Today was a national holiday for Buddha’s birthday so a lot of the regular banks and schools were closed.

We took the train again to Hong Kong Island. We started with brunch at a dim sum restaurant near the financial district. We checked out the local areas, where they have fresh meat and seafood (I mean fresh cut meat outside the shops).   We walked up and down a bunch of streets and took a local above ground train. We ended up in the area with the world’s longest escalators. It was a nice area and we sat in a small restaurant and had some good food and drinks. We stopped by a local temple and checked out the huge coils of burning incense and statutes. We checked out the bar area and made a plan to come back later in the evening to have our last meal and dance a little.

We took the train to a very crowded shopping area called Mon Kok and Ladies Market. They had a bunch of local shopping stores and tents down side streets.

After we finished touring Hong Kong and Kowloon, we went back to get ready to go out. Sorry I didn’t take anymore pictures after we left the hotel for the last night out but just know that we had a great time at a club called The Cavern. Two good live bands. That was a good end. We are both very thankful that we met Sylvia or else we wouldn’t have experienced the real Hong Kong.
