We got up the next morning at 6:00 AM to get ready for the Chengdu Panda Reserve. We were told to get there early around 8:00 AM because that is when they feed the pandas. After that they sleep all day.  We rented a taxi for 50 yuan an hour ($6.00) and got to the Reserve at the right time. We were not disappointed. All of the pandas were out eating. They had them all in separate areas; babies, young adults, adults, and mating areas. They also had red pandas which are really in the raccoon family.  I held one of the baby red pandas.

So we got back to the hotel, checked out and went to the airport. We went to the counter to check in and the clerk said to go check with the airlines. Uh oh. Something was wrong. We found out that our flight was cancelled. The next flight they could put us on at 10:00 PM, it was only 10:00 AM. Damn!  They were nice enough to put us in a motel for the wait. The motel was dark and dirty. It was weird because they gave us a room on the 6th floor and no one else was on the floor. They called us and told us to go eat lunch. We went next door where they told us to go eat and we were given a plate of “food”. It was a metal prison type tray. We ended up really only eating the large amount of rice. You can see why in the picture. We went to the airport early and got KFC. It was very good! We finally got out on our flight near 10:30 PM. After getting to Guilin, we had a driver pick us up and drive us the almost 2 hour drive to Yangshuo. We got in around 2:00 AM. Very long day.
