magical Sidi Bou Said
August 12, 2004
Ah, Sidi Bou Said...we spend beautiful afternoon in this amazing place. It's small , i can say, village situated on the cliffs overlooking the Bay of Tunis city (it's about 15-20km from Tunis). All houses are white and blue colored, trees of oranges are everywhere, so much flowers and in some moments you may think you are in paradise :o)
We heared the legend that Saint Louis came to wage war and he fell in love with Berber princess, changed his name and became the patron saint of this village and stay here till the end of his life to live and enjoy. And believe me, when you step here you can believe that this is true, not only legend.
One more beauty of Sidi Bou Said are doors...so many doors, and SBS is famous for it, the most of them are in blue color, and under sun shine this color seems more intensive, so in some moments this place looked like so magic to me.
And what you can't miss is former palace of Baron Erlanger 'cause is transformed into museum and you'll see one traditional tunisian house in full beauty.
One more beautiful day in Tunisia :o)
