Landscape was really magnificent ,colors of dry land goes from yellow, over golden brown to purple red, and in some parts (but very rare) you can see little holes filed with water with wreaths of salt around. We stoped by part that was almost all covered with salt and in one moment i thought what would happen if someone lost in this part of land ... better not to imagine, i don't know how anyone could survive here ... but to come and see this magnificent lake for sure is amazing experience.
And what is specific of this place are "desert roses" , crystallized minerals of salt in shape that looks like rose and they look just beautiful. We bought a few from man by the way as souvenir. First we thought if we can find some by ourselves, but guide explained us it's imposible 'cause we have to know how to find and mostelly they are under the land and we should have to dig...ok, we give up, i like to explore but this time i desided to be reasonable.
During the way we heared story that before the way over lake is build many caravans were lead astray by the mirages out of the chott. Soon after that we saw out of the road part of bus stick out from dry part of lake, that was one of "modern" caravans who tried to cross lake out of road and sticked because in rain season (rare. but they have) parts of lake become "live mud" and are very dangerous. So, someone forgot that and now that bus is like monument in the middle of lake and warning for everyone who try to be adventurist in this really cruel part of Sahara.
