Sunset at Playa Kalki

After our shocking captivity in and our happy liberation from the Christoffel Park we decided to drive to Playa Kalki, a public beach, to witness the sunset.
I remembered Playa Kalki from my previous visit as a very neat and unspoilt coral beach with nice rocky cliffs and blue waters. Fortunately all of this was still present except for the fact that the Kura Hulanda Lodge, a subsidiary of the Kura Hulanda hotel in Willemstad had built luxury bungalows on the cliffs. The beach is a public beach, so thank God they could not spoil too much there. But still, it was much more crowded.
I must confess, the hotel had provided quite nice parasols on the beach. But... signs on them made it perfectly clear that they were only for hotel guests.
Apart from this little annoyance I was delighted by the beautiful beach and its views. Since all the hotel guests had left (was it us or just dinner time?) we dared to sit ourselves under the forbidden parasols and were feasted on an impressive sunset. Deze fake-tekst heb ik toegevoegd om
