Sunset at Coney Island - Save the boardwalk!

My visit to the Old Stone House, see previous blog, took less time than I expected. And since it was such beautiful weather I decided to get some fresh sea air on the Boardwalk of Coney Island. I have written many weblog entries about this distinctive part of New York City (see here, here, here, and here!) and I have visited it even more often. Despite the sad decline, and thanks to some modest restoration, the atmosphere is still a special one.
Especially the Boardwalk. It is great in summer, but in winter it has another specific charm. The Boardwalk makes it easy to pleasantly walk along the shore without having your shoes filling up with tons of sand.
Anyway, for now I could still enjoy walking on the wooden surface, and while doing that the sun set, dipping the beach, the Boardwalk and the famous Coney Island structures in a beautiful orange evening glow.
