Shete Boka Park is another National Park like reservation on Curaçao. It is managed by the same organization (Carmabi) as the Christoffelpark is. The park is located in the very hostile environment of the north east coast. The site consists of razor sharp and very hard stones. It is very dry and salty. The only vegetation one finds here are trees that grow as high as the highest rocks go. The sea is constantly pounding onto the steep rocky shore, with magnificent waves of several meters high. At some places there are little bay like spaces ground out in the massive stone massive, these are called boka's.
Shete Boka houses three special boka's. Boka Tabla houses some underground caverns where the waves enters with a roaring sound.
When Sana and I arrived a tour bus full of cruise ship passengers had just arrived. So, Boka Tabla was crowded. Boka Wandomi was already much better. Today Boka Pistol could only be reached by foot, so we were the only visitors at this impressive site.
Our hike lead us back to the parking via a small hill with beautiful cactuses and finally through a huge mud pool back to the parking. At he parking patat (the Dutch/Flemish "French" fries) was served, which we had for lunch.
