Re-visiting Bronx Zoo with visitors from NL

I was once more honored with some visitors form the Netherlands, being Arnoud, Wynanda, Douwe and Nynke. For the kids it was the first time in NYC. Four guests is a bit too much for my limited "Hotel Post Toscana", so they stayed in the West Side in a small but practical hotel. Only getting there was not so practical, the commute from and to the west always is a bit of a hassle with the slow cross town buses.
I do not know what kind of relation these guys have with the weather gods, just like with their earlier visits, they brought some horrific weather, which means: rain, rain, rain, and... rain! Because of that they switched to the museum mode for the first days and I only joined them during some dinners. Except for today, when we paid a rush visit to the famous Bronx Zoo. (For more info on the zoo see my weblog here).
We were slightly delayed due to a huge breakdast at Big Daddy's, I may consider asking this restaurant for commission, I gave it a lot of business over the past years.... The subway did not co-operate either, when we finally got at the zoo we had only a short time left. So, unfortunately, we did not see too much, nor were we able to pay a visit to the famous cobra that kept the whole world exited by escaping, and finally turning up in one of the buildings of the zoo.
Although the zoo is a bit old fashioned at some places, it is still a nice one!
