Ryan, my travbuddy from Nebraska :)
I feel so lucky of being able to meet so nice people. I'm a lucky girl! Smile and the wold will smile back :)
Ryan is a really nice guy! He was one of the first people I wrote about being able to help him here around. I hope I'm doing a good job as the local friend, at least I have been told so. So far, so good... and most important I really enjoy it!
Although I have to work during the mornings, I managed to find time for Ryan, to show him around the city and to help him with the future plans in the country. I didn't want him to think he was spending much time in Lima, without doing anything interesting. I mean Lima is my hometown and I wanted him to like and have fun here!
We enjoyed really great times, good meals (seafood, chinese, tacos, even Bembos), drinks (pisco is included of course) and went to cool places (including my favorite bar). We have been driving almost all over the city. He took a picture of my car, just to remember it, hahaha
So far, so good. He just left Lima but will be back in the city, for party time!
Segundo Muelle has different locations in Lima, with nice environment, really good service and of course the food is yummy!!!!
As appetizer, we decided to drink something instead of eating. So we had a Pisco Sour and an Algarrobina (another pisco cocktail, it's sweet like a Bailey's).
Recently they added to their menu some shots. They are "Leche de Tigre" shots. Leche de Tigre or Tiger milk is the juice of our famous cebiche. Really good to try them!
We ordered the famous Cebiche Mixto (with seafood and fish) with a red pepper sauce - not very spicy. Cebiche is slices of fish cooked just with the lime juice, served with onion and sweet potato as side. And got a Tiradito with huancaina sauce (this is a yellow sauce), which is similar to the cebiche but without the onions and a dressing. It was a sunny day, perfect for the view and the fresh food.
Here you can have grilled seafood, grilled baby octopus - really great! and you can have the Piqueo entre Causas as appetizer. This dish is made with mashed potatoes - the regular ones and the sweet potato.
I recommend this place!

Ok, I'm aware fast food is not typical from Peru and it might not be your first choice for a meal here, but... there is always a but.
Bembos is not a regular fast food restaurant, it offers you a fresh full size burger with FLAVOR! You can chose among a great variety, not only the royal and cheese. You'll be able to find a German, French, Hawaian, American, etc.
Well, I have to say that Bembos is not as cheap as others. Also, although it's fast food, it can take a bit until you receive your order in the counter. This time is perfect, because the place is always full, so you need time to find a free table. As they say they take their time with the orders, because they do it better.
Next time in Peru, look for a Bembos and try one of the burgers here.
