my cosmopolitan shoes!!!! Thanks Krish, my sis!!!!

Today was Mike’s last day in Lima and we had a busy schedule for the whole day. Our agenda includes: shopping, sightseeing, partying and some time for chilling out. It would be a fun day and night, but I couldn’t help feeling a bit sad… but there was no time to feel sad, better start moving asap. I woke up early and went to the gym as usual. My plan was going straight from the gym to Mike’s hotel, pick him up and then go to shopping. We met at a café near to his hotel and the day was starting. Since we would go to the Indian Market for some souvenirs, he’d need cash. So he got his debit card.

We went to an ATM, but it didn’t work mmm. Let’s try another one! We went into a store, I was looking around when I listened he was calling my name, but his voice sounded so strange.

Mike contacting his bank. Good luck, Mike!
What was going on??? The ATM “ate” his card. Oh no!!! I called the bank, but they wouldn’t give us the card back. The only thing to do was to cancel the card. Mike called his father in the States to get the number of the back. Next thing we went to a cybercafé, where he could contact the bank. The worst part of the story was that he was going back to Russia in a few days and needed his card back asap. He asked the bank why he had so many troubles getting cash and they answered they blocked his account, because there were strange transactions made in Georgia!!!! Wow! I was feeling so bad and responsible of this whole mess in some way :( Despite everything he was smiling and told me not to feel bad. How sweet! He has another card with him and could get some cash. Now we were ready to go shopping.
ready with the shopping. Look at his jacket!

We drove to the Inca Market to look for the last souvenirs he was missing. After bargain and look at different stands for almost 3 hours, he found presents for friends, family and also for himself. It was about 3:40pm when we left the market. We both were hungry, but not too much. We had already crossed that point when the hunger disappears, haha.

Well, where to go? We were lazy and didn’t want to walk anymore. So we went to a taco place, where they deliver the food in to your car, haha. There you are not allowed to honk, but the waiter was taking so long and I did it! Yes, guilty, there is no excuse for that! Sorry Mike, you met impatient Yadi :( Our tacos came and they were tasty.

at the car, waiting for the tacos, haha
We were full, but couldn’t help having a sweet, haha. At least we shared dessert ;)

Although we both were tired, we would do something with the little energy left before chilling out: “more shopping”! But this time, it was fast and easy: a pair of shoes and an extra bag to take home. I’m a girl who likes to shop, so finding the right stores was a piece of cake ;)

We went back to his hostel, so he could pack and change clothes. We had plans for later, going to a peña and party with Romain (TB), Elena (his girlfriend), Jenny (TB) and some of my friends who aren’t TB’s. Actually they don’t have any clue about my secret personality, haha. We’d have a blast and party all night long.

Cheburashka "the passenger". This is one of his last pictures. I just hope he was found by good people in Miami...
In the meanwhile I was making phone calls to make the last arrangements. When he was ready we drove to my house. I wanted to change clothes too and also leave my car. You know: if you drink, don’t drive ;) I’m a good girl.

Before going to the peña we went to eat to a “polleria” place where chicken is sold. So Mike would be able to have “pollo a la brasa”, one of the only things he was missing here, hehe. It was really filling, uffff. Then we left and finally arrived to the peña around 10pm. Jenny was already there and also some of my friends. Elena booked a table for 10 people.  By that time we were 6: Jenny, Mike and I + my friends Belka (she’s a friend from highschool) and a lovely couple Ana & Brandon who live in Tampa Fl. Ana went to highschool with me, but now she and his husband – who is from the States – were just visiting Lima.

We got a complimentary Pisco sour and were ready for party, but still waiting for 4 other people. There would be performed a show of dances and music, besides they will play music just to dance, haha. Well that night deserves another entry, so TO BE CONTINUED…
