It's Smurfette!
Halloween, they say it brings out the wierdness in people, with the full moon, scary stories and just the plain madness of it all. My opinion, it is a great way for folks to let off some steam and to dress up in outfits that would not be considered normal everyday attire. This was my first time participating in the parade and I must admit, I really enjoyed myself. Would I do it again? Absolutely!
The entrance to the parade began somewhere in Watts Street and Sixth Avenue and ended on 23rd Street, approximately one mile long. Thie staging area was crowded with costumed folks waiting to enter the parade along with the various Halloween themed floats. Actually, crowded did not even describe the mayhem. It was more along the lines of "packed like sardines"! My friends and I finally made our way through and walked along Sixth Avenue taking pictures of great costumes, enjoying the various music and commenting on how many spectators were lined up on either side of the avenue. One of the highlights of the evening - seeing Ron Jeremy on one of the floats. If folks do not know who he is, look him up on the Internet, but I would not recommend doing this at work! Overall, a fantastic experience!
