Coral Reef

What a great day of fun.   The park opens at 8:00am. You can arrive early and check in. You can call ahead and recommend a swim time with the dolphins.  Discovery Cove supplies everything you need for a day full of fun on your all-inclusive island retreat. Included:  towels, soap, shampoo, suntan lotion, snorkel(you get to keep), mask, swimsuit, continetal breakfast and lunch, swim with the dolphins, snorkel among tropical fish in the Coral Reef, enjoy feathered friends in the Aviary, and swim in Ray Lagoon.

Once you check in you get a picture ID and a map of the park that you wear around your neck. After that you walk down the sidewalk and get your complimentry picture of you and your party and the guide will explain to you the rules of the park and answer any questions you may have.

Laguna Grill
Suggeston....make sure you wear a water proof watch.  The lockers, bathrooms and your swimsuits are located next to each other. You can put your valubles in the locker and keep the key around your neck.  Blue bags with mask and snorkel are for adults and Yellow bags with mask and snorkel are for the kids.

The Laguna Grill is a great place to eat your breakfast and your lunch.  The food was great and a great choice of eats. You eat outside and there are plenty of tables with umbrellas. You have live music with your lunch.  Very relaxing!!!!

Time to swim with the dolphins. On your blue I.D. you will see a swim time and what Cabana(starfish, seahorse, and sand dollar) you will meet at. Arrive fifteen minutes early to get a good seat to watch your short video and the trainer will go over the rules for when your  in the water with the dolphins.

Dolphin Lagoon
You can not use fins in the park at all. Snorkels are not allowed in the dolphin lagoon and Mask are allowed only if you keep them on your head or around your neck. I recommend that you do not bring anything.  No camaras in the pool, they have  someone taking your photos and video while you swim with the dolphins. The tempature of the dolphin lagoon and coral reef is 75 degrees. We got to swim with two dolphins. The first one was Maria she was 4 1/2 years old and Cindy was 40 years old. Both of the dolphins were very gentle and trusting. It was a marvelous expierence. The feel like rubber or leather and their belly is so smooth and soft. Very beautiful animals!!!!

Check out the Aviary. You can feed the small deer, cockatiels, tucans, parrots, ibis, doves and many many more.

Aviary
The birds are very friendly and with a little paitents you can get them to come down out of the trees and land on your arm and eat out of your hand. There are two little deer running around and you can pet them too.

REMEMBER: You can eat and drink as much as you like and the Blue Bridge takes you to the island where the Resort Pool, Tropical River, Aviary, Coral Reef, and Ray Lagoon are located.  Take you an underwater camara for the Coral Reef and Ray Lagoon.
