Went to the Blues hockey game last night. Awesome crowd!!!!! It was the Saint Louis Blues versus the Columbus Blue Jackets. Great game with a few fights. They won 3-2.
Ate dinner in the hotel last night. I had baked chicken, whipped mashed potatoes, and carrots. Everything was really good!!!!
It's 0540 and I'm wide awake. It's going to be a busy day. Looking forward to visiting the Arch and the riverfront today.
The Arch opens at 0900. The park is closed between 1100pm and 0600. Bought my ticket for the riverboat sightseeing tour, $12.00. The ride to the top of the Arch is not working right now.....that sucks!!!!! Should be up and running later today.

Took a Riverboat sightseeing tour today. It is amazing how much cargo is transported up and down the Mississippi river. One barge carrying grain can be worth up to one million dollars. I talked with the engineer on the way back and he said they are looking for people to work the barges on the rivers(Ohio, Missouri, and Mississippi). You can go from Chicago, Cincinnati, Minneapolis, Pittsburgh, and Saint Louis all the way to New Orleans using the rivers. Your longest trip can take up to 12 days. Starting pay at 70,000 a year, but the down side if you have a family is that you work 30 days on and 30 days off.
The one thing that interested me the most was The Old Courthouse. It's where the Dred Scott case took place between 1847 - 1850. Dred Scott, with his wife Harriet sued for their freedom. After many appeals, the case was decided upon by the Supreme Court. The decision stated that slaves were property and had no right to sue. The Dred Scott Decision hastened the start of the Civil War. The Old Courthouse is linked with the story of the Underground Railroad, and with that of slavery, as a property associated with legal challenges to slavery.
Walked back up Market Street and saw City Hall, Scottrade Center(home to the Saint Louis Blues), and Union Station. It used to be a train station and they inclosed it and turned it into a mall. Really nice inside and one of my favorite places to visit is the Hard Rock Cafe. Had the Nachos with chicken........delicious!!!!! Now between the Arch and Union Station is about a mile and a half walk. I took a taxi back....hell yeah. Going to Macy's and get a nice shirt for the club tonight. Heading to The Complex, Midtown. Dance to some Techno and have a few drinks. At Macy's I bought shirt, pants, and a belt. Lookin good and feelin good. YEAH!!!!
