Rome on a Saturday

The famous Roman amphitheater. Can you Latin scholars read this?

On Saturday we were in Rome. We started the tour at the Colesseum, which is a fascinating place—another place to read about before you see it. Then we went to the Trevi Fountain. This was rather special for us since there is a replica of Neptune at Newport Coast. It was really kind of disappointing. Their fountains are not like our fountains; this one didn’t have water gushing up and out, but rather it had waterfall kinds of water. Next we went to St. Peter’s Basilica. This too is beautiful; unfortunately inside it is quite dark and I was not able to get very good pictures. Larry got some really good ones though, so we do have a record of St. Peter’s. As we were leaving we heard some men singing on the square and that added to the ambience of the place, although they were not chanting.
