Another Day, Another Country

On Monday we were in Croatia and we booked a tour to the Krka River Falls. These were falls in a national park we had seen on PBS and they were really beautiful. This would have been impossible to see on our own, as we had to be on a bus for almost an hour to get there.

On the way to the falls we stopped at a monastery which is very old and is still used to day. The most interesting part of that tour was that the cement that was used to build the monastery contained egg whites. Apparently this is a very good bonding agent; albeit one that requires a lot of chicken production. With the yolks, they painted the buildings. Those old folk didn’t waste anything!!!
