The landscape of Wadi Rum

After Petra the dessert. area Wadi Rum is probably the main tourist attraction of Jordan. With a good reason it is a unique landscape. Like so many other places in this area it also got a link to Lawrence of Arabia who actually named his memories after one of the many rock formations in the area.

Driving along the area you go past one rock formations more impressive than the other and you can see several smaller sand dunes spread across the place. We stop at a rock with some ancient drawings from Nabatean days - the people of Petra. Then head off to head up one of the many dunes.

At this stop the drivers opens the hood of the car to do something with the engine. It always makes you feel so safe when they start repairing the vehicle you are in in the middle of the dessert. Ah well it does not seem to be any major problem and the car is ready to carry on.

Last stop is a look at a head of the old Lawrence cut out of a rock and then it is of. I were only on a short ½ day drive around the place that is actually way too short to explore it - hence this is a thing to do if I get back to Jordan.
