Last stop in the western dessert
I take the
spacecraft in the morning and we drive away from the lunar landscape of the White
Desert we go to se a small oasis town with a little desert art museum run by a
local. There is also a old mud city in part of town where you can see all the
old mud houses from the old days. They even build a mosque with a tall tower in
mud.
The lack of
rainfall mean they can maintain the city even without any repair. This is
necessary since the old part of town is vacated by now.
The last
night of the desert adventure includes such luxuries as staying at a local
place. We sleep at the rooftop - hence still no beds. But there is a shower -
which is good after a few days in the desert without. They even got hot water -
according to there own advertisement. I go into the shower and yes there is hot
water - it is a bit of a mystery because the water heater does not appear to be
plugged in. The answer is they do have warm/hot water - what they dont have is
cold water - the water from the cold tap is the same temperature as the water
from the hot tap.
