Road along the sea front
Today saw our first visit of the week to Blackpool. We caught the bus from St Annes to Blackpool (Starr Gate) and then jumped on a tram to the Southend Pier. At the peir we got off the tram and headed for the loos on the pier. This became a popular loo stop during the week!!
From the pier we started our walk into Blackpool through the street of Blackpools Southend. Well this was an interesting walk - it is a great place to visit if you like all the tatty trourist shops and backstreet market shops. We had a wonder round a few of them - but really once you had been in one you might aswell have been in them all - they were pretty much all the same!!
On our walk we got very cold and hungrey and decided that it was time to find a fish and chip shop to help with the hunger pangs.
We found a great little chippy and went inside. Now I love mushy peas and had some really great ones in here with my chips and burger. Luckly Ezri slept so we could eat without having to juggle a baby!!
After lunch we continued our walk in to Blackpool and the northend. Here are the main shops and the Tower. We had a look around many of the shops and made note of a few places we wanted to return to later in the week. As time went on Ezri woke and of course wanted a feed so we dicided we would find a cafe and get another warm drink, so I could sit and feed. This we did and I had a lovely hot chocolate.
After that we went for a walk along the North Pier.
At the end of the pier there was a Carousel. I love Carousels and as I hadn't been on one for many years, my friend Sue and I decided that we would have a ride. It was great fun - being a child again. After our ride we had to wait for Rob to return form his trip to the supermarket so we sat in the cafe on the end of the pier and had another hot drink.
The Pepsi Max!!
We then had another tram ride to the end of the Illuminations. There we got off the tram and took a walk along the Illuminations that are on the side of the tram line. These illuminations are much better seen walking as it means you can stand and watch them as they do different things.
After walking these Illumninations it was time to return home. By know we were all getting very cold and tired. So it was back onthe tram to Starr Gate and the bus back to St Annes, before the final walk home. When we got home Rob cook Pizza and Garlic Bread for tea and Sue russeled up a fab banana bake. It wasn't long before we called it a night as we were all very sleepy and in need of our beds.
