Hippos and crocs

We'd managed to check into our B&B in St Lucia just in time to make it onto the next boat trip. We were advised to go straight away as a storm was forecast to blow through the following day. The boat trip took us around a shallow salt water lake which is populated by thousands of hippos and crocs - sorry no swimming!!! Crocs were not much in evidence due to the overcast skies but we did get up close to a couple of hippo pods. The rain started towards the end of the trip, so we quickly donned the waterproofs while the unprepared Americans got a soaking.
After all the diving and driving, we'd worked up an appetite so we headed straight to Alfredos which had been recommended to us by the Dutch couple. It was an Italian-SA combo serving great pizzas and pasta and we even had room for dessert. However Tom is yet to try the South African delicacies of Eisbein, Don Pedro and Monkey gland sauce which he is saving for a special treat.
The following day we had a late breakfast (by holiday standards!). Our hosts, Francois and Rika, were very welcoming and laid on a huge buffet - hot and cold meats as well as fresh fruits and cereals so we tucked in. They were also accommodating with their wealth of information on the area and suggested we drive through the National Park to Cape Vidal.
