El Yunque & Fajardo
We left San Juan and headed to El Yunque Rainforest to do a little casual hiking. It was a beautiful drive to the rainforest and we stopped at Big Tree/La Mina Falls trail, which I believe is a popular trail for a lot visitors. As you hike, you can hear the sounds of numerous Coquis (species of frogs native to Puerto Rico), but they are extremely difficult to spot, so that's all you do is hear them. Well, maybe they were just difficult to spot for me, who knows. The lone wildlife we did see were a few birds, inculding the "San Pedrito", which is a tody that lives within the rainforest, and some tiny lizards. The waterfalls were pretty nice, but also very crowded.
We then continued the automobile journey to the Passion Fruit Bed and Breakfast in Fajardo, had some dinner, and then some cervezas to finish the long day.
