well i certainly have been slacking a bit. once again im somewhere that i cannot use my usb stick to upload pictures from, so those will have to be added later. but i dont even recall if i took any pictures while in copenhagen..
the night train to copenhagen (actually to malmo in sweden) was unneventful, as instead of being in a sleeper with an attractive swedish girl, i was stuck with a pimple faced swedish boy who stunk like you wouldnt believe. cant win em all, right?
in copenhagen i stayed in a 68 person dorm room, in a hostel which i didnt particularly care for. overall, the people were mediocre, but the hostel also didnt have a very good lounge area to foster interaction between travelers. i did meet one aussie however while cooking dinner and he had some good stories from his travels. i must have chatted with him for a good three hours, and i didnt realize until later that i didnt even know his name. we discussed taking an early train to stockholm the next morning, but i slept in a little bit and he was no where to be found.
we had put our leftovers in the fridge the night before, and when i went to get mine for lunch that evening, i found a small note on top of my plate from someone named phil - who of course must have been the aussie. who else would leave a note on someones plate in a fridge? the note said that if he was able to get on the early train he was going to go to stockholm. he left his mobile # and that i should give him a ring when i get in. sounded like a good plan - phil had cooked up some amazing pasta the night before which made everyone in the kitchen jealous, so i ate his leftovers for dinner that night.
the weather wasnt very good while i was in copenhagen - i only stayed two days, and the weather probably influenced my opinion of the city. it was a bit raw and rainy the entire time, slightly depressing - but the city just didnt have the feel that i expected.
either way, i was going to stockholm sooner rather than later.
