Looks like Regina's finest hey Mark! (Pondicherry)

WE have just arrived in Thanjavur after staying an extra day in Pondicherry, bad guts.  The direct bus here (160km from Pondicherry) stopped every 15 minutes and took 6.5 hours.  The good thing is that no people or animals died.  The guy sitting beside us on the bus puked all over himself and got off the bus and we had to watch as crowds of other people sat in his puke.  The bus was full so no other choice.  Moral of the story is no matter where you sit on public transport here it's been puked in, over and around.  We've also seen men picking their noses with their skirts.  Dirty Dirty Dirty India.

We're off to Madurai tomorrow for guess whAT, more temples.

AMehta says:
our infrastructure, including public transport, IS under stress always.. because there is never enough money for amenities for all. but the better off in india do have AC buses to travel in, and taxis, AC trains and flights. In many respects, the life and opportunities for the better off in india will be similar to those available to westerners in their own countries.. but the visitors on backpacker trails don't encounter middle-class or the rich india all that much..
