The new Cityhall

So after I present to you… The Netherlands I give you part 2.. I present to you.. My town Uden..

My town is not very interesting for tourists I think, we don’t have really big sights or attractions, but it’s an average Dutch town so that does make it interesting for others at the same time..

(It does make sense in my head trust me.. on paper it just looks strange) My town  does have a lot of visits from foreigners but mostly people who stay in the area for a while because of their work.

Uden is a small town in the south of the Netherlands in the province of North-Brabant.

Uden is close to the cities Oss, Den Bosch, Nijmegen & Eindhoven.

This building holds the library, an exhibit room and the CKVU. That is the centre in my town where they teach all kind of creative things. Dance, Drama, Painting, Sulpting, Singing, All kinds of lessons for playing instruments.. etc..
It has a little over 40.000 inhabitants spread out over an area of 67,59 km². On October 17th of this year the town got an award for being the greenest city of the Netherlands. I think it's a great place to live. Not too big but not too small either. Just somewhere in the middle. It has everything you need for a calm but enjoyable life :)

The shoppingcentre of the town is not very big, but its nice. It has a nice atmosphere and for a town of this size it does have quite a large number of shops and stores. There are some nice bars and cafe’s to be found in the citycentre but most of them are situated around the townsquare. Here are also the theatre (Theater Markant) and the new cityhall.

The old cityhall is situated in the middle of the townsquare and that's a very pretty building.

This appartment building (Palazzo) hold the swimmingpool movietheatre and some little stores..
You can see it in the pics. Since we have the new cityhall there is a restaurant located in the old one. Speaking of restaurants.. my town has some nice restaurants like Hacienda San Juan, a great Mexican restaurant with the best food and the best cocktails. Same goes for Bella Italia wich is a very good Italian restaurant. Those can be found across from the church near the citycentre.

There are several churches in Uden but the biggest one ist he prettiest. You can see this church in the pictures also. Something nice to do here is to visit the movietheatre close to the citycentre or to go to the kartcentre. It’s not situated in the citycentre but more close to the industrial area (Close to my house)

I will add more pictures later

Well said Devika. I've been living in Uden since I was 8 and it's a 'convenient' place to live. I mean, it's basically got everything you need, but then again nothing to get extremely excited about. The big church looks seriously weird and always reminded me of a lemon squeezer, but it's cool to see it appear on the horizon if you come northwards over the new A50 highway.
San Juan is definitely one of the nicest restaurants in the city but I seriously miss 'the old days' when we would have live bands playing in the bars around the market square. Uden's nightlife doesn't do much for me anymore these days.

Looks like a nice town! I like the night photos you've taken. What industries are nearby that visitors come on job-related travel?
