Buenos Aires to glaciers to the end of the world and back in a nice 2 week bite size trip.

Back in Buenos Aires

I have to admit I did not get up to very much on Monday evening and Tuesday. I was thinking of going to Colonia in Uruguay, which can be reached by fast boat in one hour from BA. I spent most of the mornin trying to find the ticket office for Buqebus, in Puerto Madero, just next to Dock 4 (Dique No 4). The price was 199 pesos return by fast boat, but you have to bring your passport with you or know the number when buying the ticket! Since I did not have either I had to leave empty handed!

The hotel has a very swish lobby. The rooms were of reasonable standard and the hotel is well located in the Congreso area, near a number of metro stations and the key and very wide Av 9 de Julio. There is also a steam room and sauna in the basement, although I did not use it. There are no great bars or restaurants immediately around, but just grab a taxi for 5 to 10 pesos to get you elsewhere as it is very central. The hotel did feel as though it may have seen better days, but that is being a bit picky. The reception staff are helpful as well.
