It's our first official day on our Oasis Overland tour, so after I have to tell Muss about 5 times to get his ass out of bed we're leaving he finally gets to the truck and we're off. It's a great way to get introduced to the truck way with a long drive down to Pucon. We arrive there and park up at the camp site before heading into town to sort out a volcano climb. Of course with that sorted it was time for a beer. Then back to camp where we're shown how to put up our tents and general things about the truck and the way everything works.
One of the cook groups gets dinner ready while the rest chill out. Then it's early to bed so we can climb Villarrica Volcano in the morning.
Up early and get ready for the climb but the weathers no good so it's back to bed. Head in to town and jump on internet and grab some lunch with a few people before meeting a few at the pub. Back to camp and dinner and beers before a not so early night.
It's up early again and this time the weathers OK so we're off up the volcano. We get all the gear, boots, crampons, ice axe etc and start up the hill. Unfortunately we get about 1/3 of the way uo and the weather packs in. It's nice blue skies and sunny but the wind is pretty strong so the make head back down. Bit of a shame but at least we tried. So it's back to the camp for a siesta and then down to the lake to soak up the sun and chill with everyone before heading back to camp for dinner etc.
